Lemon Cardamom Dutch Baby

Lemon Cardamom Dutch Baby

Last summer before going camping my wife and I bought a Dutch oven (which is awesome and we highly recommend) naturally the first dish we tried out were Dutch babies! They were a hit, our oldest loved them (baby brother was still to little to try them). Strangely we had never made them outside of camping. But the other day we had family in town for the holidays and decided it was time to Dutch baby it up! At home we use a cast iron skillet which works great!

Breakfast is one of my favorite meals to cook, and having a nice variety of recipes is awesome! This recipe is a great change up from normal pancakes. You won’t be disappointed! Another great idea for topping your dutch baby is to use jam or compote instead of syrup! Add fresh fruit and whipped cream and you have an amazing unique dish!

Dutch Baby

We DO love to make these camping as well! We use a whisk instead of a blender. Also instead of the oven and cast iron skillet we put our dutch oven on hot coals! Cooking with coals can be difficult sometimes so don’t worry if your first dutch baby doesn’t turn out perfect! Keep it up! Campingforfoodies has great instructions for using your dutch oven, check them out!

This is our lodge dutch oven. Check it out! We love it and it is very affordable.
