Lavender Cardamom Simple Syrup
Happy weekend! Ready to crawl out of bed and make the day happen? Try this simple syrup recipe & make a lavender cardamom latte! The floral notes will be the perfect compliment to that much needed morning coffee!
Most of my morning begin with a the loud proclamation from my (almost) 4 year old of “Good MORNING DADDY” just in case I this somehow wasn’t sufficient in jolting me from my precious sleep, he is soon climbing on top of me and asking to go downstairs and make a “steamer” We quickly “sneak” (mom pretends to sleep, as she was up all night with “little brother”) and head downstairs. Steamer for him is almond milk, for mom and dad its a latte. Mmmmm coffee… A parents best friend.
Two things about coffee #1 it is amazing #2 it’s expensive to go out for. So we do our best to have coffee at home. To keep things fresh we have several different latte creations we make, one of which is a lavender cardamom latte made with this simple syrup! (also works for making my oldest sons steamer a little more “delicious”!

You certainly can use an espresso machine for your latte, but as many people don’t have one a great substitute is to use a milk frother. AeroLatte Milk Frother or Laputa Automatic Milk Frother Which is much cheaper and will still make a great latte.
Add 1 tbsp of lavender cardamom simple syrup to 4 ounces of your favorite creamer (half and half or cashew creamer around here) and the AeroLatte milk frother will allow you to make it either how or cold. Serve over espresso shot (or two) or over hot coffee.
