Cracked Pepper Gravy (vegetarian)

I love this recipe on weekend mornings when the whole family wants to just want to relax and have a filling brunch! The smell of fresh biscuits cooking in the oven, and hot peppers gravy on the stove or memory makers!

Ingredients:

1 tbsp butter

2 tbsp flour

3 cups milk

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 cup ground veggie meat (optional)

Melt butter in large sauce pan, add flour and stir with whisk. Add 1 cup of milk and stir constantly with whisk until gravy thickens or lightly boils, then add additional 2 cups of milk. Continue to stir. Mix in salt, cracked pepper, and a dash of paprika. Once gravy comes to a light boil or thickens nicely take off of heat and serve over biscuits. Additionally if you choose to, you can add vegetarian ground beef to the gravy once it thickens. There are several good options available. I typically use Gardeins “Beefless Ground” or Morningstar “Griller Crumbles”.
