Small Batch Figgy Lavender Jam
Near our home we have an amazing family farm that sells seasonally fresh produce, locally canned goods, baked goods, and of course turns into an awesome pumpkin patch each fall! Our family loves visiting and we never make it out without picking up something amazing to eat, as well as a honey stick or two! Our latest haul included one of my fall favorites FIGS! One of our favorite things to do with figs? Make this Small Batch Figgy Lavender Jam!
Figs are such perfected little fruits! Fleshy skin over a gooey-seedy sweet center they certainly are delicious. My family loves homemade jam and we love figs, only seems natural we make some Jam!
Ingredients
- 4 cups halved figs
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/3 cup lavender simple syrup
Making Small Batch Figgy Lavender Jam
All right let’s do this! First step is to wash and clean your fruit. Figs have tough stems and you needs to cut them off. Then slice the figs in half or quarters until you have four cups of fruit. Now combine the fruit, lemon juice, honey, and lavender cardamom simple syrup in a saucepan over medium heat. Cover the fruit and occasionally stir for about 30-45 minutes until the fruit has broken down. Take immersion blender to the jam. Cool and enjoy over toast, on crackers, or in your hot cereal. You will love this small batch figgy lavender jam!

We really appreciate the hard work that small farms put into their work. Be sure to find one near you, if not a farm you likely have a local food co-op you could join. It may cost more sometimes (often we find it is cheaper) but the local produce will taste much better! Knowing where your food comes from is an awesome learning experience, support your local farms and enjoy amazing food!
