Fig Yogurt Bowl

Fig Yogurt Bowl

FIG SEASON IS HERE! At the end August as produce is ripening on the trees and in the garden it’s hard not to get excited for what’s coming next. Here in the Pacific Northwest we usually start in the spring with raspberries, then hood strawberries, soon after plums, nectarines, and peaches! Now as we reach the end of August figs are coming in and we can’t get enough!! Not only are they tasty they are also very healthy.

Figs are a great source of magnesium, potassium, vitamin k, calcium, vitamin b6, and fiber!

Tonight we added them to our yogurt bowls, tomorrow who knows! Figs are so versatile!

Yogurt Bowl

We use plain Greek yogurt to start our yogurt bowl base. Greek yogurt is high in protein and plain saves you from unnecessary sugars, our fruit and honey will add plenty of sweetness! 🙂 Add a good heap of homemade granola (see recipe) and a variety of fresh fruit: raspberries, blueberries, bananas, peaches, and of course FIGS! Top off with a drizzle of honey and pinch of cinnamon.

Enjoy!
