Organic Oatmeal
I always use organic oats especially when cooking for my kids. Recent studies have found traces of pesticides make their way into oats! Yikes!
The effects of these chemicals on our bodies is widely disputed, though a court recently ruled Monsanto was responsible for causing cancer in a man who frequently used round up for his job. We never use chemicals on our garden, so why buy products that have been inundated with them.
For breakfast today we made organic oatmeal and topped it with dried cranberries, dried mango, a splash of maple syrup, flax seeds, walnuts, peaches, and fresh blueberries.
Ingredients:
1 cup organic oats
2 cups almond milk (or milk of choice)
1 tsp vanilla paste
1/2 tsp cinnamon
2 tbsp maple syrup
Top each bowl with:
1 tsp ground flax seeds
1 handful fresh blueberries
2 tbsp chopped toasted walnuts
2 tbsp dried cranberries
2 tbsp chopped dried mango
1/2 sliced peach
2 tbsp toasted coconut
I hope you enjoy your own healthy breakfast!
