Pear Honey Chevre Pastries

Life is pretty crazy most of the time, especially when you have toddlers! They definitely keep us on our toes, my oldest has nicknamed our little “scatter” and there couldn’t be a more appropriate name for him! Running around like little tornadoes or destruction and fun we can usually be found about 10 seconds behind them trying to keep up! Maybe your kids are the perfect angels ours always look like in photos, maybe you don’t have kids but have a challenging job to keep up with. Life comes at you fast and because of that it is so important to remember to take time just for you. Often you may only have a few minutes to sip your coffee and relax, these pear honey cheve pastries are the perfect way to take moment of pure enjoyment for yourself.

Chevre Cheese

I personally love chevre cheese or if you want goat cheese (why not say it fancy, we are making these for “me time” after all!) Some people give it a bad rap because they don’t enjoy the earthy flavors of the cheese, to those people I present this recipe. Cover the cheese with pear, honey drizzle, and a bit of black pepper and it becomes the PERFECT compliment.

Pastry

Chevre cheese is also a great option for people who can’t handle cow cheeses. Chevre cheese is often found to be much easier on peoples systems than cow cheeses, win! Additionally chevre is low in fat! WIN WIN!

Pear Honey Chevre Pastry Instructions:

I did mention this recipe is easy to pull together, right??? Well let me tell you again, this recipe is just perfect for a last minute treat that needs to impress! They truly only take about 20 minutes from start to trying to decide how many you are going to eat! (It won’t just be one.)

Preheat your oven to 425 degrees.

Now I understand that there are people out there who would never use a premade pastry dough. We just don’t have time for that most days around here! I use a tube of pillsbury (or your favorite brand) pastry dough sheets. Cut the sheets into 4 inch by 4 inch squares. Spread parchment paper out over a baking sheet and evenly lay out the pastry sheets. Crumble about a tablespoon or so of chevre onto the middle of the squares leaving a good half inch uncovered on the edges. Next slice your pears thinly and place 2-3 wedges on each pastry. Then drizzle a generous amount of honey over top, finally crack a bit of fresh black pepper over the top. Time to bake these pear honey chevre pastries! Place them on into the oven for 12-14 minutes, until they are nicely browned. Feel free to drizzle a bit more honey on at the end if you would like!
